What is Sher Palo?

"Sher" pronounced "shayr" ("shay" like in shade) is a Hindi word for lion.

"Palo" pronounced "paalo" ("paa" like in park, "lo" like in lo) is a Hindi verb that means "to raise or rear" as in "to bring to maturity or self-sufficiency, usually through nurturing care."

"Sher Palo," literally translated, means "Raise a Lion" or "Raise Lions."

The Mission: Raise Lions

Small groups of talented and motivated people can do big things. Be disruptive. Effect change. Fight the big fights that need to be fought. Help those that need help. And they can create immense value in the process. Sher Palo considers such people to be 'lions' -- shers.

Sher Palo is a launch-pad. Our mission is to help create small and effective organizations. And do this in a new way.

The majestic lion is generally thought of as the king of the jungle - and definitely looks the part. Magnificent. Powerful.

Here's what I really like about lions.

Like many things in nature, they exhibit great balance - they do not kill for sport.
The bunny is safe - till the lion gets hungry.
They are flexible - these big cats have adapted to live in varied habitats.
They live in small groups - they exhibit no herd mentality.
They have a very effective hunting technique - based on teamwork, cooperation and speed.

There is a sher in every one of us. Some of us know it. Some of us have to find it. Most of us, however, have not let out the inner sher.
